Who among you are obsessed of taking good care of their skins? Most of you would find skin-care routine as superfluous, and most of you would have various excuses such as being too busy to go to the aesthetic center and have treatment or being on a tight budget to buy products that would be beneficial for your skin. Perhaps, however, some of you find skin-care as an integral part of looking good.
There’s this saying that “age is just a number,” and it shall not hinder you to be confident about yourself because you can do several things to delay or even conceal signs of aging. That is why I want to discuss about three proven ways on how to delay the appearance of wrinkles.
The first proven way to delay the appearance of wrinkles is to keep your skin protected from the harmful effects of the sun. When I was young, I was already taught that too much exposure to the sun has very dangerous and terrifying effects on our skins, such as it can trigger the production of wrinkles and dark spots, and it can also cause different skin diseases such as sun burns, melasma, and even skin cancer. Therefore, it is very crucial for us to protect our skin from the scorching heat of the sun.
For instance, I always apply my sunblock on my face and on my body because I know for a fact that the UV rays from the sun can trigger the development of wrinkles. Especially right now that are ozone layer are already depleting, I make it a point to put adequate amount of sunblock to shield my skin from the blazing heat of the sun.
Also, even if I already applied sunblock on my skin and even if people would find me too girly, I always make it a point to use umbrellas for double protection. I use umbrellas which have double linings because these umbrellas have thick materials that block the UV rays passing by your umbrellas. So the first sure technique to delay the appearance of wrinkles is to keep your skin protected from the harmful effects of the sun.
Moving on, another proven way to delay the appearance of wrinkles is to keep your skin moisturized. We got different lifestyles; some have a very active lifestyle wherein they always stay outside and maybe exposed to the sun and pollution, whereas some have an inactive lifestyle wherein they are usually confined inside an air-condition room the whole day. Whatever lifestyle we have, we can cause our skin to dry up and promote wrinkles. Henceforth, it is important to moisturize our skin.
Accordingly, moisturizers have been a part of my skin-care routine since I was 20. I apply two different moisturizers on my face during the day and night because I want to have the full benefits of a moisturized supple skin.
As to my moisturizing routine for my body, I see to it to moisturize my body with a lotion because it promotes the production of elastin in my skin. Elastin is the ones responsible to stimulate the elasticity of our skin. Hence, keeping your skin moisturized with lotion shall prevent your skin to develop cellulite, stretch marks and wrinkles.
And the last proven and most economical way to delay the appearance of wrinkles is to keep your skin hydrated. This is possible if you get to drink lots of water a day. Drinking lots of water prevents you from dehydration, thus preventing your body to cause cell damage. Indeed, being hydrated is important to all of us.
As to my case, a year ago I started to impose myself to drink lots of water to keep me refreshed and hydrated. Having lots of water inside my system allowed my body to be cleansed as well as it promotes cell renewal.
Summing up, there are three proven ways to delay the appearance of wrinkles: keeping your skin protected from the harmful effects of the sun, keeping your skin moisturized, and keeping your skin hydrated. We value good looks because it brings us confidence to present ourselves to other people. Thus, I recommend developing your own skin-care routine and be grace with its long term benefits.
